A Vision for Severn
Dan Janssen believes Severn can grow and move forward while protecting the character, communities and quality of life that make our Township a great place to call home.
His vision is for a strong, affordable and well-managed Severn — one where residents feel heard, tax dollars are treated with respect, infrastructure keeps pace with our needs, and decisions made today consider the community we want to leave for the next generation.
As Severn continues to grow, Dan believes that growth must be thoughtful and responsible. New opportunities should strengthen our communities, not come at the expense of the rural character, natural environment and sense of place that residents value.
Good local government also means getting the fundamentals right. Roads, water and wastewater, emergency services, recreation and other essential services require careful planning and responsible investment. Dan believes Council must look beyond the next budget or election cycle and make decisions with Severn’s long-term financial health in mind.
Just as importantly, residents deserve a local government that is accessible and connected to the people it serves. Dan believes leadership begins with listening — creating opportunities for residents to participate, communicating openly about the decisions before Council and making sure people know their concerns are being heard.
Dan also believes Severn is strongest when we work together. Building relationships with residents, community organizations, neighbouring municipalities, Simcoe County and other levels of government gives Severn a stronger voice and creates opportunities that we cannot achieve alone.
Ultimately, Dan’s vision isn’t about changing what makes Severn special.
It’s about protecting what we value, planning responsibly for what’s ahead, and working together to build an even stronger community for the generations that follow.
