On Council:

• Completed his first term as Ward 2 Councillor, representing residents and helping guide key decisions affecting Severn.

• Continued representing Severn with the Coldwater BIA and Southeast Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce, strengthening relationships with local businesses and community organizations.

• Helped guide decisions on responsible growth, infrastructure and long-term financial planning as Severn prepares for the future.

• Declared his candidacy for Deputy Mayor, seeking the opportunity to bring four years of Council experience and a collaborative approach to residents across Severn.

Professionally:

• Continued serving as elected General Chairperson of IAM District 140.

• Represented approximately 2,000 workers through collective bargaining and labour relations responsibilities.

• Continued federal advocacy on contract flipping and protections for airport workers.

• Participated in federal government consultations and advocacy concerning labour standards and airport workers.

• Continued leadership and advocacy on workplace health and safety at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

• Worked with government, employers and labour organizations on issues affecting Canada’s aviation sector.

On Council:

• Successfully elected in 2022 as a Municipal Councillor in Severn Township.

• Advocated for an appropriate approach to funding for the Westshore Community Centre and put in place one year review timeline for short-term rental regulation.

• Supported greater public involvement and environmental oversight in development, including additional public consultation around planning and tree-conservation measures.  

• Supported investment in local infrastructure, including rehabilitation of the Uhthoff Trail Bridge and other road and infrastructure priorities.  

• Supported local community organizations, such as the Legion and Lion’s Clubs, including moving the motion that provided a $1,000 start-up grant to the Washago Events Committee.  

• Represented Severn’s business community through the Coldwater BIA and Southeast Georgian Bay Chamber of Commerce (SEGBAY), bringing those organizations back to Council through regular member updates.  

• Volunteered and contributed towards the success of multiple yearly Coldwater BIA events, including Fairy Night and the Witches Walk.

• Participated in decisions guiding responsible residential growth, including subdivision, servicing and development decisions while considering infrastructure capacity.  

• Advocated for reasonable traffic calming measures, including the introduction of speed humps and crosswalks with lighting.

• Assisted in addressing parking issues, including ensuring overnight winter parking availability for downtown residents.

• Participated in annual Township budgets and financial oversight, balancing infrastructure and service needs with the Township’s long-term financial responsibilities. Advocated for property tax increases at our close to the cost of inflation.

• Maintained an active presence throughout Ward 2 and the broader Township, connecting residents, businesses and community organizations with municipal government.

Professionally:

• Began second term as elected General Chairperson of District 140.

• Presented on contract flipping to a parliamentary committee on Parliament Hill.

• Living wage petition published on the House of Commons website.

• Lead organizer for living wage rallies at Terminal 1, YYZ.

• Invited to AFL-CIO Next-Up Alumni strategic planning session to discuss the youth labour movement.

• Participated in strategic planning on Technological Change and AI in aviation with the International Transport Workers Federation in Manchester, England.

• Grand Lodge Convention Delegate, successfully brought forward and passed resolutions for a Technological Change Advisory Committee and Young Workers Conference in New York City.

• Attended IAM International Staff Conference, engaging with economist Robert Reich on living wages.

• EI petition published on the House of Commons website.

• Elected as General Chairperson of District 140.

• Advocated for pandemic premiums for airport workers.

• Co-founded the Toronto Pearson Worker Health and Safety Forum.
